Eligibility: Who Can Register

To register for JEE Advanced 2026, you must satisfy all five conditions:

1. JEE Main 2026 Rank

You must be among the top 2,50,000 candidates (all categories combined) in JEE Main 2026. The cutoff from past years:

• General: ~88–91 percentile
• OBC-NCL: ~76–80 percentile
• SC: ~54–58 percentile
• ST: ~44–48 percentile

These are not guaranteed cutoffs — they shift each year based on difficulty and number of candidates.

2. Age Limit

Born on or after October 1, 2001 (for GEN/OBC-NCL). SC/ST/PwD candidates get a 5-year relaxation — born on or after October 1, 1996.

3. Number of Attempts

Maximum 2 attempts in consecutive years. If you appeared in JEE Advanced 2025, 2026 is your last attempt. If 2026 is your first attempt, you still have one more in 2027.

4. Earlier Admission

You should NOT have accepted a seat at an IIT previously (via JoSAA) in any year. Reporting to an IIT and then leaving still counts as "seat accepted."

5. Class XII Performance

No minimum percentage is required to appear in JEE Advanced. However, for admission to IITs, you must secure at least the top 20 percentile in your Class XII board OR 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) — whichever is easier.
